Daniel E. Dixon – Pastor

I have had the privilege of being born and growing up in a Christian family.  My parents first went to Africa as missionaries when I was three years old.

Growing up in Africa as a missionary kid (MK), and afterwards in college, I always knew that God was calling me to work with other missionary kids.  I didn’t know how that was to happen, but I knew that I had some insights as to some of the struggles and trials that MK’s go through that other kids don’t.  After being a youth pastor in Harrisburg right after college, I felt God finally telling me that it was time to go to the mission field.

I applied to Africa Inland Mission in 1999 and was accepted by them to go to Africa as a teacher.  In August of 1999 I went back to Rift Valley Academy (RVA), the school I attended, as a teacher rather than as a student.

I spent 20 years ministering at RVA as a teacher.  I’ve taught Bible, History, Math, Study Skills, and even Physical Education on occasion.  At various times I have had the privilege of being Athletic Director, Activities Director, and the Jr. High Administrator for 8 years.  I loved my time in Kenya:  I love the country; I love the people; and I love my students to whom I have had the privilege of ministering.

Several years ago, however, it became clear that God was moving me on, and it was time to leave Kenya, so in July of 2019 I returned to the United States.  For the 2019-2020 school year I taught at a Christian school in North Carolina before God led me here to Rexmont as pastor in July of 2020.
